Adult, Parish and Pastor Recognition

2007-2008 Adult, Parish and Pastor Recognition Ceremony

Each year hundreds of young Catholic members of Girl Scouts earn their religious recognitions via programs administered by our committee and other adults throughout our archdiocese. Did you know that we also have recognitions for these dedicated adults? We do! Yearly, on Recognition Sunday, our committee acknowledges the time and dedication of these adults to our programs with a variety of recognitions.

Who nominates these wonderful adults and parishes for recognition?  You do!  That’s right; the nominations do not come from the committee, but from you, as an adult working with Catholic members of Girl Scouts. Each of you should consider nominating adults, pastors, and parishes for the various recognitions described below.  The deadline for all submissions is March 1st.  This past year The Bishop’s Trophy was not awarded due to lack of applications.  We know that parishes are working extensively with girls and they deserve recognition. Our adults also deserve recognition of their service, so please make every effort this year to look around and nominate all those that make these programs happen so that we may significantly congratulate them.

The St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Medal – presented to affirm the work of those adults who have made significant contributions to the spiritual development of Catholic members of Girl Scouts. (Use the Adult Recognition Nomination Form.)

The St. Anne Medal – presented to affirm the work of those adults who have made outstanding contributions to the spiritual development of Catholic members of Girl Scouts and who have also nurtured youth ministry through adult leadership. This is the highest national recognition.  (Use the Adult Recognition Nomination Form.)

The Award of Ruth – presented to adult members of the committee in recognition of outstanding and inspirational leadership of women.  (Use The Award of Ruth Nomination Form.)

The Family Award – presented to families who have contributed many hours of service in support of both Catholic members of Girl Scouts and the work of the committee. (Use the Adult Recognition Nomination Form.)

The Appreciation Plaque – presented to organizations and individuals for their continued support of the committee in their work with Catholic members of Girl Scouts. (Use the Adult Recognition Nomination Form.)

The Outstanding Pastor Award – presented to the Pastor in recognition of his efforts to support the goals of the committee in fostering the spiritual development of Catholic members of Girl Scouts. (Use the Outstanding Pastor Nomination Form.)

The Archbishop’s Trophy – presented to a parish that has offered outstanding opportunities to support Catholic members of Girl Scouts both in their spiritual development and in their earning of religious recognitions sponsored by the committee. (Use the Bishop’s Trophy Nomination Form.

Remember, March 1st is the deadline for all nominations.  If you have questions, contact Marianna Olivarez at email molivare@swbell.net .

Thank you for your support of Catholic members of Girl Scouts.
