Oculus Holy Spirit Window
At the center of the dome
is an eight foot circular oculus (eye) window
bearing the image of the Holy Spirit. This is
the highest interior position in the Cathedral.
Enlivened by gold-fired glass, one can imagine
the rays of the Holy Spirit descending upon the
apostles, upon the altar and ultimately, upon
all who have gathered in this holy place.
The seven flames of fire radiating from the Dove
signifies the seven-fold gifts of the Spirit
upon the Church.
