There are about 250 tons of steel in the cathedral

  • The dome weighs about 80,000 lbs.  It will be constructed on the ground and lifted into place, where it will stand 117 feet tall

There are about 73,000 square feet of Indiana limestone on the exterior of the cathedral

  • That is a little less than two football fields or a sidewalk three and a half miles long
