Crosses Placed Atop New Co-Cathedral |
|
The new Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart has reached new heights
with the placement of a 17 foot high cross atop the cathedral dome.
The gold leaf cross measures 17’17’’ high and 6’10’’ wide.
After it was hoisted up to the dome Tuesday morning, November 28,
workers spent the day welding and securing the cross in place.
A smaller cross that measures 12’11’’ high and 6’10’’ wide was
placed atop the front entry of the co-cathedral building on Monday.
Both crosses will serve as shining beacons of faith amid the
downtown skyline and marks continuing progress in construction which
is expected to be completed in the fall of 2007.
