Overview
The
Catholic Church organizes World Youth Day (WYD) to give youth
and young adults from around the world the opportunity to learn
and grow in their faith, meet other young people who share a
commitment to the Christian life, and to celebrate the joy of
life in Christ.
WYD
is the largest youth event in the world. This year it is being
held in Sydney, Australia from July 15-20. The events will
culminate with Mass on Sunday presided over by His Holiness,
Pope Benedict XVI.
Come and learn more about WYD, what it
means for our local church, and how you can participate – even
if you never leave Texas!
